This program is for drivers with general experience looking to obtain their CDL.
The program consists of 18 hours of individualized training to obtain a CDL A to drive a combination vehicle (tractor-trailer).
At Center for Employment Education, we take care to provide our customers high quality services personalized for their unique needs. Our staff can assist you in scheduling a program that is right for you depending on your background and experience.

We provide a variety of one-on-one CDL Training and Testing services:
This program is for drivers with significant experience looking to obtain their CDL.
This program consists of 8 hours of individualized training to obtain a CDL A or B, including up to 2-hours time for the road test.
Includes instruction on pre-trip inspection, air brake testing, and driving assessment. Additional time may be required at instructors discretion.

Tuition Anchorage & Fairbanks: $ 1,500.00 includes road test. $200 deposit is required at the time of scheduling.

All individual CDL Training and Testing Courses require the following prerequisites:
Minimum age *19 (see box at right), completed written testing at DMV, Current Alaska Driver License, IA or IB permit, DOT Physical, and DMV requires Social Security Card.

Additional costs for all driver training courses: DOT Physical, DOT Substance Test, TSA (background check/fingerprinting) fees, DMV Driver History (10-year) history, and room & board.

As of October 10, 2014 it is a requirement to have a CDL permit in your possession for a minimum 14 days after date of issuance, before a road skills test can be performed.
CDL Training & Testing
4-Hour Road Skills Refresher - CDL A or B
This program consists of a 4-hour block of time with an instructor for refresher training in a Class A or B vehicle. Additional time may be purchased by the hour.

Tuition: $ 725.00.  $200 deposit required at the time of scheduling.
*Additional time is $200 per hour.
5-Hour Road Skills Assessment - CDL A or B
This program is for experienced drivers looking to obtain their CDL.
This program consists of 3 hours review for the experienced driver who would like to get a CDL A or B.
This includes review on pre-trip inspection, air brake testing, a driving assessment, and up to 2 hours time for a road test. Additional time may be required at the instructors discretion.

Tuition Anchorage & Fairbanks: $800.00. $200 deposit required at the time of scheduling.
Passenger Bus Road Skills Assessment - CDL B
(CEE's bus is an automatic with airbrakes)
This 4-hour program consists of up to 3-hours of individualized training for drivers who would like to get a CDL B Passenger Bus. This includes pre-trip inspection, air brake testing, a driving assessment, and up to 1-1/2 hours time for road test.
Additional time may be required at instructor's discretion.
Prerequisites: Age 19, completed written testing at DMV, Current Driver License, IA or IB permit with Passenger Endorsement, and DOT Physical.

Tuition Anchorage & Fairbanks: $ 725.00.  $200 deposit required at the time of scheduling.
This program is for drivers with general experience looking to obtain their CDL.
The program consists of 18 hours of individualized training to obtain a CDL B to drive straight trucks, dump trucks, or any vehicle that requires a CDL B to drive (except buses which require a passenger endorsement and separate road test).

Both programs include up to 2 hours time for road test. Includes instruction on pre-trip inspection, air brake testing, and driving assessment. Additional time may be required at instructors discretion.

Tuition Anchorage & Fairbanks: $ 2,850 includes road test. $200 deposit is required at the time of scheduling.
CDL Refresher & Testing
Passenger Bus
These individualized (one-on-one) courses are on a scheduled only basis.
There is no classroom instruction.
Road Skills Test
​Commercial Vehicle - Class A, B, or C Road Skills Test
CEE is an authorized DMV Third Party Testing Facility
We offer road skills testing on a schedule only basis either in your vehicle or using CEE vehicle.

Prerequisites: Age 19, completed written testing at DMV, Current Driver License, IA, IB, or IC permit with Passenger Endorsement (if applicable), and DOT Physical.
Additionally for using your vehicle: Current proof of insurance and registration for both tractor and trailer (if trailer is used).  Vehicle and trailers must meet FMCSA regulations. 

Anchorage & Fairbanks
Commercial Motor Vehicle Tests (using your vehicle): CEE will collect the commercial road test fee of $125.00 at the time of scheduling (relinquished upon appointment cancellation/changes of less than 5 business days in advance of the appointment).

Commercial Motor Vehicle Tests (using CEE vehicle): CEE will collect the vehicle charge of $500.00, which includes the road test fee. There is a $200.00 deposit due at the time of scheduling (relinquished upon appointment cancellation/changes of less than 5 business days in advance of the appointment).

Commercial driving tests will not exceed two hours in length.
Hourly rate for additional driving time: $200.00 per hour
Re-Tests: Vehicle charges apply at $250.00 per hour.
​Personal Vehicles
Non-Commercial Class D road skills test
Road Test Fee: $80.00 at the time of scheduling.

Medical Examiner Registry Rule
Obtaining your DOT Physical

*Effective November 26, 2015 - Commercial Driver License (CDL) Eligibility
A person under 21 years of age is not qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle transporting hazardous materials for which a placard is required (HazMat Endorsement), or a commercial vehicle used to transport 16 or more passengers, including the driver (Passenger Endorsement).
This is an existing Federal Regulation that has been adopted by the State of Alaska effective 11/26/15.
